Adopt-A-Child Jamaica
The JDTAN Education Summits are a cornerstone of the organization’s commitment to strengthening education as a foundation for national development. Designed as spaces for learning, dialogue, and practical exchange, the summits bring together educators, school leaders, academics, policymakers, and diaspora professionals to examine pressing challenges within Jamaica’s education system and explore evidence-informed solutions. Rather than focusing on abstract theory, the summits emphasize real classroom realities, leadership capacity, student engagement, and the systems that support teaching and learning outcomes.
Through these summits, JDTAN has created platforms where diaspora educators and allied professionals can give back through intellectual and professional remittances—sharing experience gained in classrooms, institutions, and education systems across the globe. Sessions typically include keynote presentations, panel discussions, professional development workshops, and interactive forums that address topics such as instructional leadership, student support, assessment literacy, parental engagement, and school culture. Importantly, these conversations are grounded in the Jamaican context and shaped through collaboration with local educators and institutions, ensuring relevance and practical application.
The Education Summits also serve a broader purpose beyond content delivery: they strengthen relationships and build networks across borders. By convening participants from Jamaica and the diaspora, JDTAN fosters sustained collaboration between schools, colleges, universities, community organizations, and education professionals. Many summits are delivered in hybrid or virtual formats, allowing global participation and enabling members to contribute meaningfully from wherever they reside. Collectively, the JDTAN Education Summits reflect a long-term commitment to empowering educators, strengthening institutions, and advancing education as a critical driver of Jamaica’s future.
