JDTAN Summits are a core expression of the Jamaica Diaspora Taskforce Action Network’s mission to mobilize global Jamaican expertise in service of national development. Hosted across cities and countries worldwide, the summits provide structured spaces for learning, dialogue, and collaborative problem-solving across priority sectors including education, health and wellness, technology, agriculture, crime intervention and prevention, youth development, and governance. While the subject matter may vary, the format and intent remain consistent: to bring together professionals, practitioners, academics, policymakers, and community leaders to examine challenges, share best practices, and co-create practical, context-relevant solutions.
Each JDTAN Summit is grounded in Jamaican ways of governance—respect for institutional leadership, community voice, cultural context, and accountability. Whether delivered in person, virtually, or in hybrid form, the summits emphasize intellectual and professional remittances, enabling diaspora members to contribute knowledge, experience, and mentorship from wherever they reside. Beyond presentations and panel discussions, the summits are designed to build relationships, strengthen networks, and spark sustained collaboration between Jamaican institutions and the global diaspora. Collectively, JDTAN Summits serve as platforms for alignment—connecting ideas to action, expertise to need, and global perspectives to Jamaica’s long-term development priorities.
JDTAN is hosting transformative summits in 2025 to enable capacity building in Education and Health for Jamaica.
